Resources For Developing Your Website

If you are new to this, then I really believe you can't go past a Hosting Service such as HostGator. Once you're account is set up and your domain name registed, you can 'create' your website in a matter of minutes with a few simple steps:

  1. Login To Your CPanel
  2. Select & Install The Platform You Want
  3. Add Your Content

For example, as a photographer you might decide you want a Photo Gallery to show off some of your work, a Blog to post news and information, a Guest Book so visitors can leave feedback, an maybe Shopping Cart for selling some prints.

With CPanel and Fantastico you can install each of these with a few simple clicks. You then go through and add your content and apply your design elements to it, but the framework of these complex web applications can be set up in minutes.

Less experienced users might find it easier to install a Content Management System such as Wordpress or Joomla -- easily done through CPanel with just a few clicks -- and then use Add-Ons and Modules to add the functionality you want.

As you add new modules, such as Photo Galleries, eCommerce options etc, your site theme is automatically applied to the new features.

The amazing part if, you can now build a website with more features than you'll know what to do with, without needing to know a single line of code!

If you're starting out this is the only way to go!
